Product Description

Master Bond Polymer System EP42HT-2ND-2Med Black is a two component epoxy for medical devices. It has a paste consistency and straightforward processing. The mix ratio is either 100 to 40 by weight or 100 to 50 by volume. It will cure readily at ambient temperatures or more rapidly with heat. The optimum cure schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 6-8 hours at 135-165°F or 4-6 hours at 175-185°F. This epoxy has no solvents and diluents and very low shrinkage upon curing.

EP42HT-2ND-2Med Black bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites, ceramics, glass, as well as many plastics and rubbers. It has a high glass transition temperature and can resist repeated autoclaving and aggressive sterilization solutions. The epoxy is a top tier electrical and thermal insulator. The color of Part A is black, and Part B is amber. It has a service temperature range of -60°F up to 450°F. EP42HT-2ND-2Med Black can be used in a broad array of medical device applications including surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment such as endoscopes and laporoscopes, imaging systems, among others, where repeated sterilization, especially autoclaving is a primary requirement.
