Product Description

Master Bond LED401 White is a highly innovative, one part LED type system that cures fully upon exposure to a 405 nm wavelength light source where the presence of any UV light is minimal or incidental. In fact, this unique system will fully cure tack-free without any oxygen inhibition. LED401 White can be used not only as an adhesive, but as a sealant, coating and for encapsulation. This system can cure in sections up to and beyond 1/8 inch thick upon exposure to an LED light. Being an LED curable system, means that it is intrinsically safer than one requiring UV light for inducing polymerization. Master Bond LED401 White requires no mixing and will cure rapidly, with the speed of cure dependent upon the intensity of the light source, the thickness of the layer and the distance of the light source from the material being cured. Realistically, the light intensity should be 1-4 watts/cm2. When bonding, full cures in the range of 30 to 60 seconds, (sometimes less than that), are readily achievable while thicker sections require longer cure time.

LED401 White bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, glass, composites, and many plastics such as polycarbonates, acrylics and a number of polyester films. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. It has reasonably good chemical resistance to water, oils and fuels. LED401 White is a good electrical insulator. Because this system contains a filler, its most notable property is its exceptional dimensional stability.

The combination of properties mentioned above allows LED401 White to be highly useful as an adhesive, sealant or encapsulant. It stands apart from other light cured systems because it contains a filler material and is also opaque.
