Product Description

Master Bond UV19 is an easy to use one component UV curable system for high performance bonding, sealing, coating, and encapsulation. This ultra low viscosity system is able to withstand rigorous thermal cycling as well as severe thermal and mechanical shock. It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including glass, plastics such as polycarbonates and acrylics, composites, metals and many types of rubber. UV19 is a thermal and electrical insulator. Its service temperature range is -80°F to +250°F. The system contains no solvents or diluents and has very low shrinkage upon curing. It has good chemical resistance to water, oils and fuels. UV19 is atypical when compared to other UV curables because of its softness and low modulus.

UV19 generally cures readily in 10-30 seconds when exposed to a UV light source emitting at a wavelength of 320-365 nm with an energy output as low as 20-40 milliwatts/cm². The rate of cure depends upon the system’s distance from the light source, the thickness of the section and of course the intensity of the light source. It should be noted that the system can cure in sections approaching 1/8 inch thick. However, when bonding, sections of a few thousandths of an inch are more than adequate. UV19 is not oxygen inhibited. It is widely used in optical, fiber-optic, electronic, laser, and related industries.
