Product Description

Master Bond Supreme 17HTMed is a one component toughened epoxy for bonding and sealing. It has a moderate viscosity with good flow properties. Curing schedules are typically 4-6 hours at 300°F or 2-4 hours at 350°F. To obtain optimal properties, post curing at 300-350°F for 4-8 hours is recommended. Supreme 17HTMed is not premixed and frozen, and its working life is unlimited at room temperature. It should be noted that it will only cure with heating. For best shelf life, it should be stored in the refrigerator.

Supreme 17HTMed has many desirable characteristics especially the combination of high shear and peel strength. It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, composites and many plastics. It is a toughened system, meaning that it is less rigid than a more conventional high temperature resistant epoxy. Therefore, it is well suited for bonding dissimilar substrates. This toughness also provides the ability to withstand thermal cycling. The service temperature range is from -100°F to +550°F. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or diluents. Supreme 17HTMed has a high glass transition temperature and resists repeated autoclaving. Its cross linking profile imparts excellent protection against aggressive chemical sterilants such as gluteraldehyde.

It is an amber colored epoxy with reliable electrical and thermal insulation. Supreme 17HTMed should be considered for medical applications where stellar resistance to repeated autoclaving and chemical sterilization is needed.
